When you’re booking your holiday, you might notice we only ask for a first name and a surname. This is because middle names aren't required to get you from A to B!
The golden rule ✨
As long as the first name and surname on your booking match exactly what is written on your passport, you are all set to travel.
Example: If your passport says “Jonathan David Smith,” booking as “Jonathan Smith” is perfectly fine.
Just a heads up: Make sure you use your full legal first name (e.g., Jonathan) rather than a nickname (e.g., Jon), as the first name must match your ID.
What about online check-in? 🤔
When it comes time to check in for your flight (usually a few weeks before you fly), the airline will ask you to enter your Advanced Passenger Information (API). This is where you’ll enter your passport number and expiry date.
Some airlines might ask for your full name as it appears on your passport during this specific step. If they do, you can add your middle names then—but don't worry if they don't ask; your original first and last name booking is still valid!
