Cyprus Travel Updates

We are aware of recent news reports regarding a localised incident at a military base in Cyprus on 2 March 2026. We understand this may be on your mind, and we want to provide you with the latest official guidance to put your mind at ease.

Is it safe to travel to Cyprus?

Yes. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has not changed its travel advice for the Republic of Cyprus. As the holiday regions remain safe for visitors, all travel plans are unaffected, and holidays are currently planned to go ahead as scheduled.

What happened at RAF Akrotiri?

The Sovereign Base Areas Administration confirmed a suspected drone impact at the RAF Akrotiri military base. This was a localized incident within a specific military area, away from the main tourist resorts.

What should I do now?

If you are due to travel, you can continue with your holiday plans as planned. To ensure you stay informed and prepared, we recommend:

  • Sign up for alerts: Register for FCDO Travel Advice email alerts for Cyprus to receive real-time updates.
  • Follow local advice: Follow any instructions provided by local Cypriot authorities while in resort.

Can I change or cancel my holiday?

We understand that you may still feel a little unsure. Because the FCDO has not advised against travel to Cyprus, our standard terms and conditions currently apply:

  • Destination Changes: We are currently unable to facilitate changes to your holiday destination.
  • Date Changes & Cancellations: If you would prefer to move your dates or cancel your booking, standard provider fees will apply.
  • Fees: Most airline admin fees are currently up to £80 per person, plus any difference in flight fare.

    Our Commitment to Customers

We are monitoring the situation and FCDO advice very closely. If anything changes that impacts your specific booking, we will contact you directly with plenty of notice.
